I always advocate tweaking styles and formats, but when it comes to topics, it’s best to choose as narrow a niche as possible and stick to it. That way YouTube recognizes you as a trusted source in that area and will favor you in rankings. If you make your content too diverse, you’re more likely to be overlooked by the algorithm. Remember that on YouTube, niche is king.
5: Encourage Off-Platform Embeds
As previously mentioned, YouTube is hot on authority. This is also reflected in the weight they give to off-platform links and embeds. If your videos are featured and getting linked to from high-quality places on the web, YouTube thinks you must be doing something right and will give you a boost in the rankings.

Backlinks are incoming links to a webpage. When a web page links to any other page, it’s called a backlink. In the past, backlinks were the major metric for the ranking of a web page. A page with a lot of backlinks tends to rank higher with all major search engines, including Google.  Here is a glossary of common terms related to backlinks that you should know:
Link Juice: When a web page links to any of your articles or your website’s homepage, it passes the link juice. This link juice helps with the ranking of the article, and also improves the domain authority. As a blogger, you can stop passing the link juice by using a nofollow tag.
Nofollow Link: When a website links to another website, but the link has a nofollow tag, that link does not pass the link juice. Nofollow links are not useful concerning the ranking of a page, as they do not contribute anything.  In general, a webmaster uses the nofollow tag when he is linking out to an unreliable site. Example: Links from comments on other blogs.
Do-follow link: By default, all the links that you add in a blog post are do-follow links, and these pass the link juice.
Linking Root Domains: This refers to the number of backlinks coming to your website from a unique domain. Even if a website has linked to your website ten times, it would be considered as the one-linked root domain.
Low-Quality Links: Low-quality links are links that come from harvested sites, automated sites, spam sites or even porn sites. Such links do far more harm than good. This is one reason you should be careful when buying backlinks.
Internal Links: Links that are going from one page to another within the same domain are called internal links, and the process itself is referred to as internal linking.
Anchor Text: Text that is used to hyperlink is called anchor text. Anchor text backlinks work great when you are trying to rank for particular keywords.

I’ve put together 10 ways to make your content marketing go viral
People want to look smart (so let them)
When people think about sharing content, they consider social currency.  If it makes them look clever or smart, the more likely they are to pass it onto their friends and followers.In February of 2012, LinkedIn sent out emails to select members that were part of the top 5 percent of most viewed profiles for the previous year.
Thousands and thousands of people flocked to Facebook and Twitter to spread the good news.  The biggest beneficiary of this was LinkedIn because it raised its profile and probably got thousands of new members.
Keep it short
The vast majority of viral content is short. Videos tend to range from around 30 seconds to one minute. Anything longer and you might lose your grip.The same goes for blogs. People have short attentions spans; so make it easy for them with “scannable” content such as images, dot points and subheadings.
Take a human angle
Perhaps you have found the perfect drink to have on your wedding anniversary?  Maybe you want to share some traits your boss has that you hate, and you figure most people can relate to?
If people can relate and apply it to their own lives, they are much more likely to share.  When something is personal to someone, they will pass it on.
Make it genuine
Most people are not looking for videos or blogs that seem highly produced or overdone.  There must be a genuine feel.

If you are going to post on Facebook, make sure you use proper grammar and formatting to make your content readable.  Nothing is more annoying than one big, huge, long paragraph.If you are going to Tweet, do not use all 140 characters.  Be sure to leave at least 10 to 12 spaces (this helps for encouraging re-tweets).

Newsjacking is a concept coined by David Meerman Scott in his book with the same name. In his words, Newsjacking is the art and science of injecting your ideas into a breaking news story so you and your ideas get noticed.
But more simply put, it means taking something that’s popular and much talked about and using it to bring more attention to you or your business. (Like these brands did with PokémonGo or these did with Star Wars.)
Aligning yourself with trending topics can be extremely beneficial to your brand in building awareness and driving traffic through SEO, but only if you have your finger on the pulse.

The life of a story can last for days or weeks, or it might only last a few hours. Needless to say, timing is everything.
THE LIFE OF A NEWS STORY WORKS:
Breaking News: An event happens. News outlets report whatever details they have available to get their stories out as quickly as possible. This is the ideal time to newsbreak.
The Scramble & Excitement: Depending on the impact of the event and the initial hype, journalists scramble to find new information from anywhere they can. This is still a good time to newsbreak if you bring some new insight or spin the story in a way that no one else has.
The Peak: By now, the general public is aware of the story and has heard several spins on the subject matter. If you successfully newsjacked the story, your content will get to ride the wave to the peak.
Old News: All of the possible angles have been exhausted and people have lost interest in the topic. There's no point in trying to newsjack old news.
NEWSJACKING HELP MY SEO?
As a story starts to trend, search traffic for keywords related to that story tends to explode. Google features articles about that story at the top of search results and stories get highlighted by Twitter's trending topics.
When we newsjack a story at the right time, we get in before the story peaks and are able to grab attention while it's still building.
Although there will be tough competition for this traffic, if we get in early enough you will get links from other outlets that use your article as a reference. Thus, newsjacking can provide short term and long term SEO benefits.

Once you have a system in place to track potential stories, you have to prepare to act quickly.
